Robert Frudeger

Robert W. Frudeger, 67, of Sarasota, Florida, died at 1:30 A.M., Thursday, April 13, 1989 at Sarasota Memorial Hospital.

Born June 30, 1921 in Burlington, he was the sonof William and Flora Bishcoff Frudeger. he married Joan Nelson Feb. 3, 1951 in Maywood, Ill. He attended Northwestern University and graduated from the University of Iowa.

He was associated with Burlington's KBUR, owned and managed radio stations in Galesburg and Peoria, Ill. He and his family moved to Florida in 1974 where he was a real estate broker. He was a concert violinist, a composer, and a collaborator with the late Meredith Wilson, as well as the writer of the music for The Young Americans, an international singing group.

As a Second Lieutenant during World War II, he served with the Special Services in the European theater. He was a member and lay pastor of the Sarasota Unity Church.

Surviving are his wife, two daughters, Mrs. Jeff (Jill) Haire, Orlando, Fla., Mrs. Dave (Nancy) Leggett, Beaver Creek, Ohio; two grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. James (Bette) McGrath, Keosauqua, Iowa and Mrs. Jack (Jan) Enburg, Danville, Iowa.

The body has been cremated. Private family memorial services have been held. A memorial has been established for the American Cancer Society Research.
