Services for Raymond E. Kentch, 77, Augusta, will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the King-Lynkd Funeral Home in Fort Madison. The Rev. David Gaskill will officiate. Burial will be in Augusta Cemetery.
Mr. Kentch died at 12:48 a.m. Wednesday, June 29, at White River Medical Center, Batesville, Ark. He had been ill one week.
He was born Nov. 20, 1910, at Augusta. He was a carpenter for 56 years before his retirement and was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was member of Carpenters Local 410, the Eagles Lodge of Burlington, the American Legion No. 48 of Danville, and Kaaba Shrine and Scottish Rites Bodies of Davenport.
On June 12, 1936, at Davenport, he married Marie Gaibel, who survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Edward of Augusta and Gary of Burlington; three daughters, Sharon Pfligerstofer, Bonaparte, Susan Green, Mediapolis, and Rae J. McElderry, Fort Madison; two sisters, Rubby McCoy and Ruth Huffman, both of Burlington; 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter and a sister. His parents were Ethan and Anna Robbins Kentch.
Friends may call after 2 p.m. Friday at the King-Lynk Funeral Home where the family will meet friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday.
A memorial is being established with the Iowa Lung Association. Contributions may be made at the funeral home.
