Lial Humphrey
MILTON - Lial Humphrey, 76, of Milton died Aug. 25. 1985. at University Hospitals in Iowa City.

He was born Feb. 25, 1909, in Davis County to A.K. and Maudie Wimp Humphrey. He was a retired carpenter and lived in Milton most of his life. A veteran of World War II, he was a member of American Legion Post 483 in Milton and the Milton Fire Department. He married Florence Baldwin on Nov. 22, 1928, in Greeley, Colo.

He is survived by his wife; four daughters, Shirley Baxter of Fort Madison, Joanne Evans of Burlington, Susan Nelson of East Moline, Ill., and Sandra Hainline of Bonaparte; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a granddaughter.

The service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Milton United Methodist Church, the Revs. Charles, and Marilyn Butler officiating. Burial with
graveside military rites will be in Sunnyside Cemetery in Milton.

The casket will be taken to the church at 10 a.m. Wednesday and
closed at the beginning of the service.

A memorial has been established.

Wagler Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
