STANLEY R. "BUD" GIRE

Stanley R. "Bud" Gire, son of Emery and Marie Huisman Gire, was born May 13, 1939 at Birmingham and died the afternoon of Friday, Sept. 19, 1986 at Jefferson County Hospital, Fairfield, at the age of 47.

He grew up in the Douds Community, graduated from Douds High School in 1958 and served in the U.S. Air Force from 1958-1962. He lived a number of years in Burlington and past ten years in Carthage, Ill.

Remaining are his mother, Marie Laughlin, of Douds, three sons, Brian of Minneapolis, Minn., and Richard and Kevin at home in Carthage, a daughter, Angela of Burlington and a granddaughter, Donnelle Gire. Also surviving are two brothers, William and Robert Gire both of Douds, two half-sisters, Dema Kay Gire of Fairfield, and Connie Sue Roland of Birmingham, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death step-father, John Laughlin, his natural father, Emery Gire and his step-mother, Cecil Gire.

Funeral services were held Sunday, Sept. 21, 1986 at 1:30 p.m. at Pedrick Funeral Home, Douds, with Rev. Stephen Conte officiating. The body was cremated. Interment of the cremated remains was in Mt. Moriah Cemetery north of Douds.
