Walter P. Gintz

Walter Philip Gintz, son of Herman and Mary Pfeiff Gintz, was born April 19, 1921 in Des Moines County, Iowa and departed this life the evening of Monday, September 8, 1986 at Van Buren County Memorial Hospital, Keosauqua, at the age of 65.

He grew up in the Wever community, served in the United States Army during World War II, farmed near Wever, and moved to his present farm home south of Keosauqua in 1972. He was a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge at Wever.

Surviving are two daughters, Connie Barnett of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Beck Gintz of Montezuma, Iowa; two brothers, Marvin of Puyallup, Washington and Maurice of Rochester, Minnesota.

Funeral services were held Thursday, September 11, 1986 at 10 a.m. at Pedrick Funeral Home, Keosauqua with Rev. Gerald Caughron officiating. Interment with Odd Fellows rites was in Rock Spring Cemetery north of Wever. A memorial was established for the Rock Spring Cemetery.
