Carl Harryman dies at Douds

DOUDS - Carl L. Harryman, 58, of Gardena, Calif., died Thursday morning at the home of his father east of Douds.

Harryman was born April 21, 1928, near Douds, the son of Dewey and Rowena Morrow Harryman. He grew up in the Douds, Fairfield and Burlington communities, graduated from Burlington High School in 1946 and attended Burlington Junior College. He married Nancy Reece March 10, 1951, in Fairfield and lived many years in California where he was a truck driver.

Surviving are his wife; a daughter, Pamela Fox and son Michael, both of California; two grandchildren; his father, Douds; two brothers, Donald, Douds, and Francis, Seal Beach, Calif.; and a foster sister, Mary Cosby, Burlington.

His mother and a brother preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Pedrick Funeral Home at Douds with the Rev. Harold Harryman officiating. Burial will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery near Douds. Friends may call beginning Sunday morning.

Memorials may be left at the funeral home.
