William Moore rites Friday

BIRMINHAM - Services for William Oren Moore, 70, of Medill, Mo., former Birmingham and Fairfield resident who died Tuesday afternoon at his home, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Burch-Raymond Funeral Home in Birmingham with the Rv. Phil Campbell officiating. Burial with military rites will be in National Cemetery, Keokuk. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. A memorial has been established.

Moore was born Sept. 10, 1915 at Morning Sun, the son of Edward and Maggie Freeman Moore. He was reared and educated in the Mountain View and West Plains community in Missouri. In 1948, he moved to Fairfield, where he was employed at Philco-Dexter for 17 years. He move to Birmingham in 1955 and to Medill a month ago. He married Nora Criger in Mountain View April 18, 1946. He was an Army Air Force veteran, having served in Europe in World War II.

Surviving are his wife; a son, Dwayne of Birmingham; six daughters, Shirley McIntire of Keosauqua, Bertha Clay of Medill, Mo., Veleta Wilkinson of Fort Riley, Kan., Barbara Miller, Darilyn Moore, both of Kingman, Ariz., Marilyn ross of Kahoka, Mo.; 17 grandchildren and a brother, Lloyd Moore of Oklahoma. His parents, two sisters and an infant daughter preceded him in death.
