Rites today for J. Pearson

PULASKI - James Arthur Pearson, 53, of Pulaski died Wednesday morning at the Keokuk Convalescent Center in Keokuk.

He was born May 13, 1933 in Leando to Ray and Mildred Sellers Pearson. He was a sheetmetal worker for the Colton Sheetmetal Works in Ottumwa for several years, and had lived in Pulaski for the past 14 years.

He married Betty Reynolds Dec. 5, 1958 in Fairfield. Surviving are his wife; two sons: James Jr. of Milton, and Victor of Pulaski; four daughters: Mildred Norton of Ottumwa, Inez Kelly of Pulaski, Diana Pearson of Bloomfield, and Dawn Pearson of Pulaski; and six grandchildren.

Also surviving are five brothers: John of Batavia, Ralph and Roscoe of Birmingham, David of Hedrick, and George of Hill City, S.D.; and five sisters: Josephine Anderson of Stockport, Judith Wilkinson of Bloomfield, Chloe Hewitt and Margaret Hall of Keokuk and Evy Smith of Hedrick.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Doris Saner.

Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. today at the United Methodist Church in Pulask with the Rev. Marilyn Butler officiating. Pearson was buried in the Pulaski Cemetery. Wagler Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
