Nellie Howells

TROY - Nellie Roberts Howells, 94, of Tacoma, Wa., formerly of Troy died Jan. 18, 1986, in Tacoma.

She was born Oct. 6, 1891 near Eldon to George and Nancy Mustard Roberts. She was a school teacher and had taught in Troy, and in Wyoming. She spent most of her retirement years in Troy. She married Dan Howells on Feb. 1, 1921 in Wyoming. He died in 1942.

She is survived by a daughter, Marilyn Hillier, of Tacoma, Wa.; four grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; a brother, Edwin Roberts of Worthington, Minn.; and two sisters, Lena Matt of La Porte City, and Ruth Buckles of Keosauqua. She was preceded in death by a son, Dan.

The body has been cremated. The remains will be interred in Troy Cemetery at the later date.
