NAOMI SUSAN PHILLIPS

Naomi Susan Phillips, daughter of Solomon and Ada Stiles Huffman, was born May 31, 1905 in Indiana and departed this life the evening of Sunday, March 9, 1986 at her home east of Cantril at the age of 80.

On November 11, 1921 she married Wilbia Phillips in Indiana. They moved to northeast Iowa in 1928 ant to southeast Iowa in 1940, resident in the Burlington, Houghton and Hillsboro communities before moving to their present farm near Cantril in 1955. Mr. Phillips died in 1965.

Surviving are three sons, Edward, Cantril, David, Spokane, Washington, and James, Chalmette, Louisiana; four grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Also surviving are five brothers, Lawrence Huffman, Texas, John Huffman, California, Hiram Huffman, Oregon, Wesley Huffman, South Dakota, and William Huffman, Cantril; three sisters, Melinda Lakeland and Mary Olinger, both of California and Sarah Crowther, Missouri. A sister and a brother preceded her in death.

Mrs. Phillips was a member of the Full Gospel Assembly of Cantril.

The service was held Wednesday, March 12, 1986 at 10:30 a.m. at Pedrick Funeral Home, Keosauqua with Rev. Grover Senf officiating. Interment was in Purdom Cemetery, Keosauqua. Memorials were established for the Van Buren County Public Health Nursing Service and for her church for missions.
