Eugene Baker rites Wednesday

LIBERTYVILLE - Eugene S. Baker, 71, Route 1, Libertyville, died at 1:05 a.m. Monday at Jefferson County Hospital, Fairfield.

Services will be at 10 am Wednesday at Behner Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Connor officiating. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery, Birmingham. Family visitation will be at the funeral home. Memorials have been established to Faith United Methodist Church, the Libertyville Community Center and the new Presbyterian church at Birmingham.

Baker was born Sept 4, 1914 in Abingdon, the son of Tazewell and Alvessa Sadler Baker. He married Florence Moore Oct. 1, 1938 in Washington County. He had lived in the Libertyville community for 45 years and before that in Birmingham. He was a farmer for more than 50 years and was employed in the Agriculture Stabilization Conservation Service (ASCS) office for a number of years.

Surviving are his wife; a son, Allan E. of Annapolis, Md.; two grandchildren; a sister, Beulah Scott of Birmingham and a brother, Frank of Batavia.
