Irma McDaniel

Irma Johnston McDaniel, daughter of Clarence and Ollie Kisling Johnston, was born August 18, 1913 south of Stockport and departed this life the evening of Sunday, February 9, 1986 at Ottumwa Regional Health Care Center at the age of 72.

She graduated from Stockport High School with the class of 1932.

In 1936 she married Silas McDaniel in Bridgton, Maine. They made their home in Maine and Connecticut. Mr. McDaniel died in 1974 and in 1975 she returned to make her home in Keosauqua.

Remaining to cherish her memory are two sisters, Vera Johnston and Doral Hopmann both of St. Louis, Mo. and a brother, Don Johnston and his wife, Mary of rural Stockport. Also surviving are a nephew, Jim Hopmann and great-nieces Amy and Jill of St. Louis, a niece, Carol Green, Grove, Oklahoma, several relatives in Maine including great niece, Leanne, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Irma was a member of the Beer-Barker Unit, American Legion Auxiliary, Keosauqua and the Utica Ladies Club.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, Feb. 12, 1986 at 10 A.M. at Pedrick Funeral Home, Keosauqua, with Rev. Don Morrison officiating. Interment was in Dibble Cemetery south of Stockport. Memorials were established for the Keosauqua Senior Citizens Center and the Keosauqua Public Library.
