Neal E. Jacobs

Neal E. Jacobs, 81, of Birmingham died Jan. 1, 1986 at 2 p.m. in the Jefferson County Hospital.

He was born July 13, 1904 in Washington County, the son of Mark and Nettie E. Baker Jacobs. He married Iva Belle Davidson June 4, 1934 in Macomb, Ill. Mr. Jacobs has lived in Birmingham since 1939 after living in Washington, Iowa. He was a feed grinder and worked at the Eclipse Lumber Company 31 years until he retired. He was a member of the Iowa National Guard with the 113th Armor Division in Washington for 31 years.

He is survived by his wife, Iva Belle Jacobs, Birmingham, one daughter, Sheila Jo Wicker, Norfolk, Va., two granddaughters and one great granddaughter and two living sisters, Ethel Bright, Rubio and Louisa Bell, Mt. Pleasant.

He was preceded in death by one sister and three brothers.

Funeral services were Sunday, Jan. 5, 1986 at 1 p.m. at the Behner Funeral Home with Hall Geiger officiating. Burial was in the Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington, Iowa.

Family visitation was Saturday evening at the Behner Funeral Home.
