REBA BURNETT
Reba I. Burnett, 84, of Keokuk died early Sunday morning, June 2, 1985 at her home.
She was born August 5, 1900 in Mount Vernon, Iowa, the daughter of Jackson and Jennie Elders Montgomery. she married Alva E. Burnett on April 29, 1923 in Keokuk, and he preceded her in death on February 12, 1967.
She had lived in Keokuk since 1946, and was co-owner of Burnett Trucking. She was a member of the Bonaparte Presbyterian Church, Bonaparte Chapter of Order of Eastern Star for 50 years, the White Shrine of Jerusalem, Rebecca Lodge and the Ladies of Retired Railroad Conductors.
Survivors include a son Melvin E. of Keokuk; a daughter, Mrs. Marilyn Parrillo of Chicago; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
The funeral was held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Dejong Funeral Home, Keokuk, with Dr. David Castrodale officiating. Burial was in Sharon Cemetery, Farmington rural route.
