The John F. Dodds and W. F. Proper families were notified last week of the death of Ed Proper on April 12, 1932 at San Antonio, Texas. Mr. Proper's health had been failing for some time. The family home had been in Ames, Iowa where he was engaged in the furniture and jewelry business. He is survived by his wife Emma and one son, Datus, a namesake of his grandfather the Rev. Datus D. Proper. The body was brought to Ames for burial. Ed Proper was a former resident of Van Buren county. The son of the Rev. Datus D. Proper and Amanda Ellen Dodds Proper.
