LEE LAMMERT

Lee Lammert, son of James and Evelyn Kline Lammert, was born January 5, 1904 near Traer, Iowa and departed this life the evening of Friday, May 17, 1985 in Van Buren County Memorial Hospital, Keosauqua, at the age of 81.

He grew up in Beaman, Iowa, and on September 1, 1923 married Hazel V. Atwood in Marshalltown. They lived most of their married life in the Marshalltown area, moving to Bloomfield in 1973 and to Bonaparte in 1975. Mrs. Lammert died in 1979. Also preceding him in death were a daughter, Betty Wandling, a grandson, James Lammert, two half-sisters and three half brothers.

Surviving are two sons, Kenneth of Bloomfield, and Morrris of Marshalltown' two daughters, Katherine Billingsley, Bonaparte and Maxine Lammert, Phoenix, Arizona; 25 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two half brothers, Ellis Glass, Cedar Rapids, and John Lammert, Ankeny.

Theola Boost had been his companion and housekeeper the past five years. Mr. Lammert was a retired farmer.

The service was held Monday, May 20, 1985 at 10 a.m. at Pedrick Funeral Home, Keosauqua, with Robert Hambright. Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. in the Chester Cemetery near Grinnell, with Rev. Ed Zelley officiating and interment followed.
