Glenn J. Owens

Glenn J. Owens, son of William and Myrtle Johnston Owens, was born August 29, 1907 at Cotter, Iowa and died July 9, 1985 at Parkview Care Center in Fairfield at the age of 77.

On February 29, 1932 he married Greta Hinton at Kahoka, Mo. They farmed near Ainsworth and lived in Crawfordsville, Washington and Winfield, moving to Columbus Junction in 1974, to Selma in 1981 and to Douds in 1984. Glenn was a salesman for MoorMan Feed Co. for 28 years.

Surviving are his wife, two daughters, Phyllis Cornwell, Pineville, Mo. and Shirley Kunzman, Selma and a son, Ronald, Quincy, Ill. Also surviving are nine grandchildren, and ten great grandchildrfen(sp). He was preceded in death by two infant sons, William Glenn and Robert Evan, two brothers, Harold and Clarence and by a sister, Ina Joy.

He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Columbus Junction.

Funeral services were held Friday, July 12, 1985 at 10:30 a.m. in First Presbyterian Church, Winfield, with Rev. Harold Harryman of Douds and Rev. James Edwards, pastor, officiating. Interment was in Cambrian Cemetery, rural Columbus Junction. Arrangements were in charge of Pedrick Funeral Home, Douds.
