MRS. EMMA I. HOLMES

Mrs. Emma I. Holmes, 89, of Fairfield, died at 8:25 p.m. Sunday, August 4, 1985 in the Jefferson County Hospital, Fairfield.

Mrs. Holmes was born February 8, 1896 in Charleston. She moved to Fairfield from Stockport in 1979. She was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Donnellson, the American Legion Auxiliary and the Order of Eastern Star, No. 44 of Stockport.

On December 16, 1914 at Donnellson, she was married to Sidney V. Holmes, who preceded her in death.

She is survived by two sons, Osborne of Birmingham, and Donald of Stockport; five daughters, Mrs. Ruby Sharp of Santa Maria, California, Mrs. Shirley Avery of Fort Madison, Mrs. Marian Bales of Clinton, Arkansas, Mrs. Faye Giberson of Lebanon, Illinois and Mrs. Ruth Heston of Stockport and 16 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sons, three brothers, three sisters and a grandchild. Her parents were Herman and Bertha Roaglin Klug.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, August 8, 1985 at the St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Donnellson with Rev. Kenneth Harden officiating. Burial will be in the Evangelical cemetery.

Hofbauer Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials are being established with St. Paul's United Church of Christ and the Order of Eastern Star at Stockport. Contributions may be made at the Hofbauer Funeral Home in Donnellson.
