GERALD G. FORBES

Gerald G. Forbes, son of Enzer and Cora Gregory Forbes, was born September 30, 1902 at Glasgow, Iowa and departed this life the afternoon at Saturday, November 3, 1984 at Van Buren County Memorial Hospital in Keosauqua at the age of 82.

He grew up in the Mt. Pleasant-Danville area, farmed near Birmingham and moved to his present farm southeast of Keosauqua in 1942.

Surviving are his wife, Della; a son, Ronald of Sepulveda, California; a granddaughter, Aline Forbes; a grandson, Alan Forbes; a brother, Walter in North Carolina; a sister, Nina White in California. He was preceded in death by a son, Merle in childhood, two sisters, Nabel Corwin and Mary Gravier and a brother, Kenenth.

Gerald was a long-time member of the Center Chapel United Methodist Church.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, November 6, 1984 at 1:30 p.m. in the Center Chapel United Methodist Church southeast of Keosauqua, with Rev. Louise Spears officiating. Interment was in Forest Home Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant. A memorial was established for his church. Pedrick Funeral Home, Keosauqua was in charge of arrangements.
