W. Scott Pfeifer

BIRMINGHAM - W. Scott Pfeifer, 62, of Birmingham, died at 12:33 p.m. Sunday, March 18, 1984, at Van Buren County Memorial Hospital in Keosauqua. He had suffered a heart attack a short time earlier at his home.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 22, 1984 at the Birmingham Free Methodist Church with the Rev. Chris Daniel officiating. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery. Memorials may be made to donor's choice.

Pfeifer was born April 4, 1921 at Bonaparte, the son of John and Lulu Bennett Pfeifer. He was employed for 37 years at Van Buren Telephone Company before retiring last year. He married Katherine Skaggs on Jan. 16, 1960 in Birmingham. She survives.

Also surviving are four children, James Pfeifer, Judy McClaran, Jaqueline Smith, all of Birmingham, Gary Howard of Des Moines; eight grandchildren and one sister, Ruth Kennedy of Phoenix, Arizona.

Pfeifer was a veteran of WWII, a member of the Birmingham Lions Club and American Legion, and had attended the Bonaparte Baptist Church.
