Elmer L. Snelling

Elmer L. Snelling, 88, of 1229 South Street, Ottumwa died Jan. 22, 1984, at the Ottumwa Hospital. He was born in Van Buren County on May 22, 1895 to George W. and Elva Jones Snelling.

On Dec. 29, 1936 he married Lillie M. Fisher in Lancaster, Mo.

He is survived by sons, L. Jack, Omaha, Nebr. and Fern Frederick of Ottumwa, two step daughters, Maine McDonald, Silvis, Ill., and Mildred Gates, Ottumwa, several grand children and great grand children. He was preceded in death by a son, Carl, in 1937.

Services were Wednesday, Jan. 25, at Shrine of Memories Funeral Home, N. Highway 63, Ottumwa with burial in Memorial Lawn Cemetery, Ottumwa.

Memorials have been established to the American Cancer Society.
