L.M. Barker

L.M. Barker, nearing 80 years of age and a former Van Buren County resident, died at his farm home near Centralia, Mo., Saturday morning, July 3, 1983.

Memorial services were held at a funeral home in Centralia, Mo. on July 5, 1983 at 2:00 p.m.

Maurice graduated from Birmingham High School with the class of 1922, attended Parsons College and taught and served as principal in various schools in southeast Iowa.

He was the son of John and Ida Anderson Barker, his father being a descendant of the early Barkers in the Keosauqua area.

Surviving are one sister, Mrs. Olive Wright, two brothers, Richard and William, all residents of Centralia, Mo. He was never married.
