LOWELL D. DRUMMOND

Lowell D. Drummond, 54, of Centerville, a former Farmington resident, died at 5:30 p.m. Monday, November 22, 1982, in the Iowa Methodist Medical Center, Des Moines. He had suffered an apparent heart attack at his home earlier.

Mr. Drummond was born June 25, 1928, at Azen, Missouri. He moved to Centerville and was a member of the United Methodist Church and the Mt. Moriah Lodge No. 27 AF & AM in Farmington, the Lions Club of which he was immediate past president and the Centerville Shrine Club.

On December 19, 1948, he married Doris D. Munford who preceded him in death. He later married Doris R. Morgan, who survives.

Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, Gary L. Drummond of Donnellson and Steve Drummond of Farmington; a daughter Cheryl Drummond of Farmington; four step sons, Dwight Best of Adel, Steve, Terry and Jerry Morgan, all of Centerville; two step-daughters, Mrs. Larry Stanbrough of Mt. Pleasant, and Mrs. Robert Rokey of Argyle; two sisters, Mrs. Raymond (Naomi) McVeigh of Fort Madison and Mrs. Dale (Oneida) Stansberry of Richmond, Missouri and 11 grandchildren.

Besides his first wife, he was preceded in death by a sister. His parents were Wayne and Florence Courtney Drummond.

The funeral was held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, November 26, at the Hofbauer Funeral Home in Farmington with the Rv. James Rozendall officiating. Burial was in Greenglade cemetery, Farmington.

A memorial was established to the Iowa Lions Eye Bank, Iowa City. Contributions may be made at the Hofbauer Funeral Home.
