Last Rites For Ripley

Last rites for Charles W. Shipley, 90, 908 Depot, will be held Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Behner Funeral Funeral Home.

Shipley died Monday at Parkview Care Center. Services will be conducted by the Rev. J.E. Dorman with burial in Zion Lutheran Cemetery near Douds.

Shipley was born Feb. 21, 1886 in Van Buren County, the son of Charles and Anna Lavalle Chipley. On Jan. 2, 1960 he married Marguerite Rhoades. She died March 20, 1966.

The deceased lived all his life in Van Buren and Jefferson counties. He farmed before retiring to Fairfield.

Surviving are one son, Harold Wright of Des Moines; two daughters, Irma Hanen of Fairfield and Mary Chew of Dodge City, Kan.; 12 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and three brothers, George of Eureka, Calif., Harley of Birmingham and Mart of Worthington, Minn.
