Howard B. Snyder

Howard Blaine Snider, son of Duras and Ida Stephens Snyder, was born January 16, 1899 in Keosauqua and departed this life early Tuesday, July 6, 1982, at Van Buren Good Samaritan Center in Keosauqua at the age of 83.

On January 19, 1924, he married Lola Fellows at the Congregational parsonage in Keosauqua. They lived in Vernon, Ottumwa, and Batavia. They moved to Country Lane Apartments in Keosauqua in 1979.

Remaining to cherish his memory are his faithful wife, Lola, their daughter Nola Louise Owen and her husband Edward of Joliet, Ariz. five grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

A sister, Helen Bostock, preceded him in death.

Howard was employed many years at the John Deere Ottumwa works.

He will be remembered as a devoted husband and father, a good citizen and friend.

Funeral services were held Friday, July 9, 1982, at 1:30 P.M. at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua, with Rev. Louise Knupp officiating. Interment was in Fellows Cemetery. A memorial was established for Van Buren County Memorial Hospital.
