BERNICE ELLIOTT

Mrs. Bernice C. Elliott, 88, Keosauqua, died at 6:30 a.m. Monday, June 7, 1982 at Van Buren Good Samaritan Center.

She was born July 4, 1893, at Ogallala, Nebraska to Henry and Mellie Robinson Tyler. She taught in Van Buren County school and married Finley S. Elliott November 25, 1920. They farmed southeast of Keosauqua, retiring into the city in 1975.

Mrs. Elliott was a member of the Bentonsport United Methodist Church, DAR and National Retired Teachers Association.

Surviving: The husband; two sons, Richard T., Kinnelon, New Jersey, and Philip H., Bonaparte; daughter, Dorothy F. Stecker, Hillsboro; sister, Elizabeth Tyler, Fairfield; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 9, at the Keosauqua United Methodist Church with burial in Vernon Cemetery. A memorial to the Bentonsport United Methodist Church has been established at Pedrick Funeral Home.
