JERRY HUDDLESON

Friends were sorrowed to hear of the death of Jerry (Jed) Huddleson, 59, son of the later Harry and Bea Stephenson Huddleston, recently. He died at the Veterans Medical Center in Indianapolis. His death followed a six month illness. He lived in Ft. Wayne, Ind., where he was assistant editor of the Journal Gazette News.

Jerry was born and grew up in Milton, and graduated in the class of 1939. He entered the air corps in 1942 and saw action as a bomber pilot over Italy, and served in the European, North Africa and Mideastern War theater with the 485th air force.

After the war he completed his education in journalism, and in 1948 began his career as a newsman on the Webster City, Iowa Freeman Journal. After working with several other papers, he began his career with the Ft. Wayne newspaper where he was associated until his death.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Eileen, three sons, Richard E., Indianapolis; Steven C., Lafayette, Ind.; Timothy W.., Ft. Wayne, Ind.; a daughter, Eileen Brown, Plainfield, Ind.; and a brother, Robert, Mt. Carroll, Ill.

Burial was in the Washington Park Cemetery, East, in Indianapolis.

Memorials were accepted for the American Cancer Society.
