LOLA M. HANEY

Lola M. Haney, daughter of John and Jane Fresh Ritz, was born September 29, 1894 in Davis County and departed this life Monday, February 23, 1981 at Sunrise Terrace Nursing Home in Winfield at the age of 86.

On July 2, 1914, she married Floyd F. Haney. They spent their married life farming southwest of Douds. Mr. Haney died in 1967 and she continued to live on the farm until moving to Country Lane Apartments in Keosauqua in 1978.

She was a member of the Eldon Christian Church and a Gold Star Mother.

Remaining to cherish her memory are her son-in-law, Ellis Barker of Douds and a granddaughter, Linda Lite of Mt. Pleasant. A son, Neil gave his life for his country in WW II and a daughter, Mary Lou Barker died in 1971.

Funeral services were held Thursday, February 26, 1981 at 1:30 P.M. at Pedrick Funeral Home in Douds, with Dr. Chris Daniel officiating. Interment was in Eldon Cemetery. A memorial was established for the Diabetes Association.
