PEARL ELIZABETH SYFERT, daughter of T. E. and Mary Syfert, was born Feb. 6th, 1889, and died near Winchester, March 14, 1897, aged 8 years, 1 month and 9 days.

She was a bright, cheerful, amiable child, commanding the warmest love and esteem of all her relatives. She made friends of all with whom she met, and was a favorite among her schoolmates. During her brief but painful illness she was patient and cheerful to the last, and with a smiling face breathed her redeemed spirit out of the body to go into the presence of the Savior who says "Suffer little children to come unto me, and forbid them not for of such is the kingdom of heaven." Her father, mother and one little brother, with many loving relatives and friends are left to mourn the loss of her to them so dear. Her funeral took place the 16th at 2 p.m., at Winchester, in the presence of a large congregation of sympathizing friends and neighbors, Rev. Fraker officiating. Thence her remains were laid in the Winchester cemetery to await the resurrection morn.
