George Den Besten

DOUDS - George Den Besten, 84, died at 10:59 a.m. July 29 at Van Buren County Memorial Hospital, Keosauqua.

He was born Nov. 12, 1896, in Chicago, Ill., to Cornelius and Katherine Van Niwegen Den Besten. He was a retired farmer. He lived near Burlington and moved to his present farm on Iowa 16 between Douds and Birmingham in the early 1940s.

Survivors: cousins.

Service: 10 a.m. Friday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Douds. Burial: Oakwood Cemetery at Pella.
