Funeral services will be Tuesday for Claude E. Fleagle, 70, at the Raymond Funeral Home.

The services will be at 2 p.m. with the Rev. John D. Cornish officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

Fleagle died at 8 p.m. Saturday in Van Buren Memorial Hospital after an illness of the past two years. He had been serious the past month.

Claude E. Fleagle was born April 14, 1903, in Fairfield, the son of Hollis and Inez Iona Winney Fleagle. He was reared and educated in Jefferson County, and was a member of the Bethesda United Methodist Church.

He was married in 1922 to Mary Jerrel. He was later married Feb. 25, 1928, in Muscatine to Alice Irene Briggs. She died Dec. 13, 1968. His marriage to Zelda Tedrow took place Nov. 24, 1969 in Fairfield. She survives. The family home is on route 2, Keosauqua.

In addition to his widow he is also survived by four sons: Elmer, Oskaloosa; Frank, Ottumwa; Verlin, DeWitt; and Norman, Douds; one daughter, Mrs. Iona Ulrich, Grand Cayman Island, British west Indies; 15 grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Bessie Manley, Fairfield.

He was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.

Members of the family will receive friends at the funeral home this evening from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m.
