"ABE" TUROCK

Friends have received word of the death of Abe Turock, long-time Keosauqua resident. The formal obituary follows:

AARON TUROCK

Aaron Turock, 89, of 9531 Ash, Overland Park, died on Thursday, July 10 at Menorah Medical Center. He was born in Russia and had lived in Keosauqua, Iowa, most of his life before moving to this area in 1963. Mr. Turock operated a scrap metal business in Keosauqua before he retired in 1963. He was a member of the Congregation Ohev Shalom.

He leaves three daughters, Mrs. Fannie Lerner of the home; Mrs. Betty Finkelstein, Prairie Village, Kansas and Mrs. Anna Kossar, Houston, and four grandchildren. Graveside services were at 9:30 July 11 at Mount Carmel Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Beth Shalom Synagogue.

In a letter to friends the Turock girls, Betty and Fanny said that their father had been hospitalized three times since February. He had been in intensive care for a couple of weeks in his last hospitalization, but had been moved from intensive care the day before his death and seemed improved. Because of his severe emphysema and other health problems, Abe had been bedfast or in a wheel chair for many months.

The letter continues with other news of the family, saying they are all well, and that Anna's daughter in Los Angeles is planning a January wedding. They expressed their best wishes to area friends.

Word was received by Hazel Lawson, Fairfield.
