GEORGE EDWARD SHOBE

George Edward Shobe, better known as Ed Shobe, was born May 8th at Downing, Schyler County, Missouri, to John and Elizabeth Snider Shobe. He passed away February 17, 1981 at Bloomfield Manor, Bloomfield, Iowa, at the age of 96 years and nine months.

He married Mabel Kritzman February 4, 1914. To this union was born two daughters, Elizabeth Blount and Helen Hoy, of Ottumwa, and one son, Robert of Milton. He was preceded in death by his wife, four sisters and four brothers.

Left to cherish his memory are his two daughters, his son, one sister, Lena of Lancaster, Mo., four granddaughters, one great grandson and three treat granddaughters, together with a host of friends and relatives.

His entire life was spent as a farmer. He was a member of the Troy United Methodist Church. He was a loving and devoted father and grandfather. His children will always remember his love and guidance.

Services were held on Thursday, Feb. 19 at 2 p.m., at the Troy United Methodist Church with the Rev. Fred Rowley officiating. Burial was in Sunnyslope Cemetery at Milton.

Priester Funeral Chapels in Bloomfield and Milton was in charge of arrangements.
