Esther Mustoe

Mary Esther Mustoe, 87, the daughter of Edward and Etta Hoskins Hyde, was born December 28, 1893, in Scotland County, Missouri, and passed away February 26, 1981, in the Scotland County Memorial Hospital, Memphis, Missouri.

She was united in marriage to Hubert F. Mustoe, December 25, 1914, and to this union two sons were born, Wm. Clark and Jack.

She is survived by one son, Clark, and wife, Anna Mae; one brother, Glen Hyde, of Memphis; four sisters, Mrs. Zoe Mertin, Ft. Madison, Iowa, Mrs. Phoebe Stanford, and Mrs. Frankie Cochren, both of Marion, Iowa, and Mrs. Josephine Michalski, of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Mustoe was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her son, Jack, killed in World War II; and three brothers, Lee, Merritt and Dick Hyde.

She was a live-long resident of Scotland County until two months ago, when she was taken to the LaBelle Manor at LaBelle, Missouri and had been in failing health for over seven years. She was a member of the Mt. Zion Church, joining at an early age.

Services were conducted Saturday, February 28, 1981 at 10:30 A.M. from the Payne-Gerth Funeral Chapel, Memphis. Burial was in the Memphis Cemetery. The Rev. Kenneth Campbell officiated. Body bearers were Bill Hall, Freddy Henderson, Harry Robeson, Donald Hyde, Gary Hyde, and Verlin Waide. Funeral arrangements by Payne-Gerth Funeral Home.
