Lillie B. Merritt

Lillie B. Merritt, the daughter of Samuel and Cora Easley Bingham, was born may 15, 1895, at Bogard, Missouri. She died at her home in Memphis, Missouri, September 4, 1982.

Lillie belonged to the Church of Christ at Carrollton, Missouri.

She married John Merritt in 1952.

Mrs. Merritt was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, John.

Survivors include her daughter, Mrs. Jeff (Marie) Hanson of Stillwell, Kansas; sister, Lettie Cramer of Wallawall, Washington; two grandchildren, James Newport of Osawatomie, Kansas and Twanette Nickle of Jupiter, Florida; ten great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren, step-children and several step-grandchildren.

Services were conducted by the Payne-Gerth Funeral Home from their Memphis Chapel on Wednesday, September 8, 1982, at 10:00 a.m. with the Rev. Kenneth Campbell officiating. The organist was Mrs. Ann Luther and soloist was Kenneth Campbell. Pall bearers were great-grandsons. The committal service was September 8, 1982, 3 p.m. at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, seven miles north of Carrollton, Missouri. Interment was in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery on the Bingham family plot near her parents.
