"GERALD "SPARKY" HOUSE

Gerald B. House, son of Ova and Minnie Talbott House, was born August 2, 1910 in Van Buren County and departed this life Sunday, April 18, 1982 at his home in Milton at the age of 71.

On November 5, 1932, he married Josephine Kent at Kahoka, Mo. She remains to cherish his memory with their three sons, Dwayne Junior, Ottumwa, Billy of Marshalltown and Robert of Milton and their three daughters, Carolyn Himes of Keosauqua, Sandra Reese of Memphis, Mo. and Janet Holton of Milton. Also surviving are 24 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, a sister, Florence Chaplin of Bloomfield, a niece, Dorothy Northup of Bloomfield, other relatives and friends.

A great granddaughter Brandi Jo Himes preceded him in death.

"Sparky", as he was known to his friends, was employed many years as a heavy equipment operator for Van Buren County Highway Department and since retiring worked part time for the Van Buren County Conservation Board. He will be remembered as a devoted husband, father and grandfather, a skilled workman and a good friend.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 21, 1982 at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua, with Rev. Richard Qualls officiating. Interment was in Sunnyside Cemetery at Milton.

A memorial was established for the cancer fund.
