David P. Hilles dead 1/2/1910 at home of daughter Mrs. Ira C. McCrary & husband Ottumwa Brought to Keosauqua. Mr. Hilles born 12/19/1928 [sic] in Washington Co. Penn. Came to Van Buren Co., when 9 years old. Married in 1851 Rebecca Thatcher who died 17 years ago and buried Vernon but will be changed to Purden Cem. next to husband. Three children are living, Mrs. Ira McCrary of Ottumwa, Mark of Okla, & Ellsworth E. of Eldon, Iowa.
