Mrs. Josephine Glasgow

KEOKUK - Mrs. Josephine May Glasgow, 73, 1027 Franklin Street, died unexpectedly at 4:45 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 19, at her home.

She was born in Clark County, Missouri Feb. 26, 1903. Her parents were William and Minnie Bell Huntley Couchenour.

She was married to Foley R. Glasgow on Nov. 26, 1918. He preceded her in death in December 1961.

Mrs. Glasgow moved to Keokuk in 1963 from Milton, Iowa. She was a member of the Trinity United Methodist church at Keokuk, the United Methodist Women, the Faith circle and Immegart Sunday school class of that church. Also a member of Louise Helwig circle of King's Daughters, Pythian Sisters and American Legion Auxiliary of Milton. She was also active in the Keokuk Heritage Center, American Association of Retired Persons, Drop-in Center, Gray Ladies at Keokuk Area Hospital, East, the Royal Neighbors of America and Golden Agers.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Carol Richards of Fort Madison; two sons, Clifford Glasgow, Keokuk; two brothers, William and Wilson Cochenour, both of California; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by a son killed in the Korean War, a daughter, infant son, two sisters and five brothers.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Trinity United Methodist church. The Rev. Merlin J. Ackerson and the Rev. J. Robert Burkhart will officiate. Burial will be in the Oakland cemetery at Keokuk.

The body is at the DeJong Funeral Home where visitation will be after 1 p.m. Friday.
