Cliff L. Drake

Cliff L. Drake, 84, the son of Alfred and Ellen Wilson Drake, was born October 31, 1894, in Scotland County, Missouri, and departed this life August 15, 1979, at the Scotland County Memorial Hospital, Memphis, Missouri.

He was united in marriage to LeVanchie Eggleston on November 25, 1914, and had been married 57 years at the time of her death in 1971. They made their home on a farm in northeast Scotland County until 1944 when they moved to Memphis.

He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Marilee Shogren and Mrs. Evelyn Arehart of Manhatton, Kansas; one brother, James Drake of California; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, LeVanchie; three sisters, two brothers and two grandchildren.

He was a member of the Methodist Church.

Services were held August 18, in the Payne-Gerth Funeral Chapel, Memphis, Missouri conducted by Rev. Kenneth Campbell. Burial was in the Memphis Cemetery. The music was furnished by Ann Luther. Pallbearers were John E. Luther, Arlie Tippett, Richard Moore, P.C. Hinds, Earl Craig, and Ezra Dodge.
