George Cochran

George Lester Cochran, 80, of Ankeny, former resident of Cantril, died Sept. 18, 1992, at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines.

He was born Feb. 9, 1912, in Cantril to George and Alma Linn Cochran. He married Eileen Summers April 11, 1939, in Unionville, Mo.

He was an automobile body foreman for car dealerships in Fort Morgan, Colo., for several years. He was a resident of Ankeny since July 1992.

He is survived by his wife; one grandson; one daughter-in-law, two brothers, Charles of Marion and Bates of Pamona, Calif., and one sister, Selma Dorson of Keosauqua.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Terry and one brother, Todd.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 26, 1992 at the Cantril United Methodist Church in Cantril with Rev. Kim Eanes officiating. Burial will be in the Maple Grove Cemetery at Cantril.

The body has been cremated.

The Wagler Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
