Hazel Brady

Hazel Elizabeth Brady, 85, formerly of Bloomfield and the Milton area, died Dec. 6 at the Fairlawn Heights Nursing Center of Topeka, Kan.

She was born July 31, 1897 in Wapello County to James Edward and Sarah Merrill Parr. She married Charles F. Brady on Sept. 1, 1918 in Milton. He died Oct. 30, 1979.

She was a bookkeeper in a family produce business in Milton. Later, she and her husband established an insurance agency, which they managed until their retirement in 1964. She was a member of the Crestview United Methodist Church in Topeka.

She is survived by a granddaughter and a great-granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by her husband; a daughter, Jean Summer; a sister; and two brothers.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Milton United Methodist Church, conducted by the Rev. Kim Eanes. Burial will be in the Sunnyside Cemetery in Milton.

Visitation is open at the Wagler Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to the Milton United Methodist Church.
