RAYMOND ELLSWORTH BRADBURY

Funeral for Raymond Ellsworth Bradbury, 85, of Pottsboro, Texas, who died Saturday in a Denison hospital, was held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Preston Community Church, with the Revs. Brent Farris and Billy Vier officiating. Burial was in Cedarlawn Memorial Park. Dannell Funeral Home was in Charge of arrangements.

Bradbury was born Aug. 26, 1905, in Bloomfield, Iowa, son of David and Mary Brumley Bradbury. He married LuVelle Agatha Ware Feb. 14, 1947, in Ottumwa, Iowa. Bradbury was a service manager for Sears, founder and member of the Preston Community Church, and a Methodist. He served as the first mayor of the City of Preston, and was founder and served on the Preston Volunteer Fire Department. He once served with the National Guard.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Robert of Davenport, Iowa, David of Arlington; two stepsons, Robert Emanuel of Arlington, Doyle Emanuel of Quinlan; daughter, Rosemary Proctor of Ottumwa, Iowa; 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. He was an uncle of Audrey Mote of Keosauqua.

Memorials may be made to Preston Community Church, Highland Acres, Pottsboro, Texas 75076.
