Helen Boyd

Helen I. Boyd, 85, formerly of Milton, died at 5:50 p.m. Monday, March 8, 1993, at the Davis County Hospital.

She was born August 8, 1907 at Storm Lake to Frank and Ida Hoskins Barr. She married Willard Boyd July 23, 1931 in Queen City, Mo. He died November 10, 1988.

She was reaised in the home of Mr. and Mrs. James Higgins and Hazel Baird in Milton. She graduated from Milton High School. She lived her life in Milton and had resided in the long-term care unit of Davis County Hospital since 1988. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Milton and had been a Pythian Sister.

She is survived by six sons, Willard, Jr. of Des Moines; Russell of Keosauqua; Charles of Edgerton, Kan.; Robert of Wilton; Frederick of Sacramento, Calif., and Ray of Milton; a daughter, Julia Martin of Cantril; 26 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Ruth Taylor of Grand Prairie, Alberta, Canada and Frances Allen of Oyama, British Columbia, Canada.

She was preceded in death by thre brothers and two sisters.

Funeral services were held March 11, 1993 at the Grace United Methodist Church in Milton with the Rev. Kim Eanes officiating. Burial was in the Sunnyside Cemetery in Milton.

Memorials may be made to her church.

Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua was in charge of the arrangements.
