ELMER C. BLETZER

Elmer C. Bletzer passed away Saturday, Feb. 14, at the family home south of Milton. He was born, Nev.(sp) 22, 1902 to Phillip and Emma Kingsinger Bletzer, and spent his entire life on the home farm.

He was married to Dola Gaffney, May 10, 1924, and to this union were born two daughters, Beverly Ogden, Ottumwa and Betty Hoover, Omaha, Nebr.

He was a farmer and cattle feeder. His happiest moments were spent caring for his cattle. He loved animals and he showed it in his work with them. He loved to work and considered it good, never tiring or complaining about any task. Elmer was loved and respected very much by his family. He will be long remembered by them as well as by other relatives and many friends.

Survivors include his wife, the two daughters, and sons-in-law, three grandchildren and a great granddaughter; one sister, Mary Gaffney, Milton.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Bill; four sisters, Emma Bletzer, Minnie Harbin, Fannie Gould and Lela Brown.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 17 at the United Methodist Church in Milton with Rev. Herb DeMello officiating. Interment was in the Milton Sunnyside Cemetery. Wellborn Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
