Bertha M. Black

Mrs. Bertha M. Wollam, daughter of U.G. Wollam and Rosa Wolfe Wollam, was born September 18, 1886, in Van Buren County and departed this life May 19, 1975. In the Stockport Manor at Stockport, Iowa.

She was married to Wiley Cles, December 23, 1906. To this union one son, Earl E. Cles was born.

Wiley Cles passed away August 30, 1906.

Earl Cles passes away June 23, 1954.

She married Charles E. Black, June 4, 1931, who later passed away October 23, 1943.

She is survived by four step-children, Mrs. Florence Carlson, Memphis, Missouri, Robert F. Black, Coolier, Idaho, Edgar B. Black, Ranger, Texas, Mrs. Helen E. Moore, Ames, Iowa; also two other step-children, Janet and Ross Black deceased.

She lived her entire life in and near Milton, Iowa. Bertha was a faithful member of the Milton faithful member of the Milton Christian Church for many years.

She was a devoted and loving mother to her family and will be sadly missed by all and her many friends.

Funeral services were conducted at the Wellborn Funeral Home in Milton, Iowa, on Sunday, June 1st, 1975, with the Rev. Herb DeMello officiating. Organist was Nola Beeler. Pall bearers were Clark Stooksbury, Melvin Sandy, Ivan Chaplin, Lloyd Fisher, Joe Keller, Virgil Smithburg. Interment was in the South Prairie Chapel Cemetery.
