ART BILLHEIMER

Art Billheimer of rural Fairfield was electrocuted Thursday morning August 17 at his home. He was working on an electric wire when he came in contact with a hot wire. He was taken down but could not be revived. He was born May 21, 1921 at Breckenridge, Mo. to LeRoy and Arta Dorson Billheimer. He married Gleda Baker of Milton and had lived in the Fairfield vicinity since 1947. He was a Navy Veteran of World War II and had been employed by the Iowa Electric Light and Power for over 26 years. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Fairfield, the V.F.W., Eagles, Legion and an active member of the Iowa National Guard. He is survived by his wife and a daughter, Sandy McIntire, who is in the Navy and stationed in Greece, and a grandson, his mother of Lodi, Mo. 2 sisters, Ruth Younker of Milton and Eileen Kennedy of Lodi, Mo.; 2 brothers, Richard and Harold also of Lodi, Mo. The funeral was held today (Monday) at the Behrens Funeral Home in Fairfield at 2 p.m., Rev. David Kennedy officiating. Military rites were held at Evergreen Cemetery by Iowa National Guards and Veterans of Foreign Wars.
