Shelley Fetters

Shelley Fetters, 73, of Cantril died Wednesday, May 5, at 3:09 p.m. in the Van Buren County Memorial Hospital, at Keosauqua. Death was unexpected.

He was born Nov. 7, 1897 at Clearfield, Pa., the son of George and Elizabeth Defaugh Fetters.

He married Nina Logan Mar. 11, 1920 at Ottumwa. She survives.

A retired farmer, he was a resident of the Cantril area for 21 years.

In addition to his widow, he is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Forrest (Freda) Simmons of Farmington and Mrs. John (Velma) Shell of East Wenatchee, Wash.; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, seven brothers and three sisters, one great granddaughter.

The funeral service was held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 8, in the Miller-Hofbauer Funeral Home, Farmington, the Rev. Ronald Cochran officiated. Burial was in the Sharon cemetery.
