George Short

George Short, 71, died Sunday, May 2 at 3:20 p.m. at Veterans Hospital in Knoxville where he had been a patient several years.

The son of Charles and Lydia Short, he was born May 10, 1899, near Kilbourne, and spent his life in the community. A brother, Clyde, and a sister, Margaret, preceded him in death. He was a veteran of World War II.

The service was held Tuesday, May 4 at 2 p.m. at Pedrick Funeral Home in Douds, conducted by the Rev. Robert Bowers, pastor of Zion Bible Church. Burial was in Kilbourne Cemetery.
