Mrs. Sophia M. Rhody, 89, died at 5:07 Thursday, April 15 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Fort Madison after a lengthy illness. A former Farmington resident, she had been residing at Donnellson Manor nursing home.

She was born Nov. 22, 1881, at Farmington, the daughter of Louis and Caroline Burgdorf Schau. She was born Nov. 22, 1881, at Farmington, the daughter of Louis and Caroline Burgdorf Schau. She married Jacob F. Rohdy on Jan. 8, 1903, at Farmington. He died March 2 of this year. She was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, Donnellson.

Surviving are one brother, Albert Schau of Farmington, and two sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Wallingford of Bonaparte, and Mrs. Anna Sears of Mason City.

Three brothers also preceded her in death.

The funeral service was held Saturday, April 17 at 10 a.m. at the St. Paul Church in Donnellson conducted by the Rev. Victor Engelmann. Burial was in Primrose Cemetery. Miller-Hofbauer Funeral Home at Donnellson were in charge of arrangements.
