Samuel OVERMAN funeral Keosauqua March 26, 1905. Remains from Des Moines. Residence of son, J. M. Overman in Keosauqua (Purdom Cem.) Death was at home of daughter, Mrs. LEE in D. M., IA. Married 24, 1905 (quote from letter he had written. “ Keosauqua, IA 5/24/1902. I was born 10/15/1825 Clark Co., Indiana. My parents both died within 4 days of each other. I was not quite 7 years at the time. Grew to manhood in native state. In 1847 to Illinois. In church (M. E.) mo. of November 1849 at Yorkneck Schoolhouse in Adams Co., Ill. Married Nancy Ellen ROBERTSON December 26, 1850 near Camp Point, Ill. She died March 22, 1900. 7 children: 3 girls – 4 boys – Mrs. P. J. HORN of Hillsboro – Mrs. Mary I. LEE of Des Moines, Mrs. Fanny BAKER of Mt. Ayr. – J. M. and W. C. Overman of Keosauqua, John Samuel and George M. who died infancy.”
